Perfect for couples: boutique private pool villas

Nestled behind rice paddy fields and amongst Bali’s jungle east of Ubud, Capung Asri is a serene oasis that focuses on relaxation and crafting the perfect retreat for you. We spent the night in one of their 3 villas, each with its own private pool and views of the lush greenery. During our stay, the boutique resort felt welcoming and intimate, perfect for a couple’s getaway, especially on a honeymoon.

At Capung Asri, couples can book spa, yoga, and dining, arranged at your leisure and in the comfort of your villa. While there are only a few villa’s, it is possible to arrange lunch or dinner in advance - including the candlelight dinner we experienced! You can also arrange excursions and transport to explore more of Ubud if you choose to venture out!

Our Amethyst Villa

We stayed in the Amethyst Villa, a secluded haven complete with a small garden with a private gazebo, an infinity pool overlooking jungle views, and lounge chairs and bean bags in the outdoors. Inside, the spacious bedroom features a king-size bed and large bathroom with both a shower and bathtub.

Enhancing our stay, we were welcomed by honeymoon flower decorations on the bed, cake, a fruit basket, and a flower bath in the tub. A personal touch by Capung Asri’s hospitality team was evident in the handwritten card on our bed, a thoughtful note on why the Amethyst Villa was chosen specifically for us. It made our stay even more special knowing that the team made sure we had such a holistic experience.

Impeccable hospitality

The hospitality is truly what we find to be a highlight at Capung Asri, with a Complimentary Butler Service available during the entirety of our stay. They say it’s to make you feel like the only guest in Bali, and the experience proved to be true! Another couple appeared to be staying the same time we were, but it felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves. Communication with our butler was through messages or calls, ensuring we had as much private time as we wanted, a big draw for a honeymoon!

In the morning, the floating breakfast was delivered to us in our infinity pool. Taking a dip with a complete breakfast of fruit, omelets, and juice, while taking in the beautiful nature spread out in front of us was the perfect treat to end our stay.

Romantic Candlelight Dinner

For an especially romantic evening, Capung Asri offers a three-course candlelight dinner. We had the option of having it in our gazebo within our private villa, or in a larger gazebo outside overlooking the rice paddy fields that they have dubbed the Zen Lounge. Our romantic candlelight dinner was beautifully set up in the large gazebo outside. Ascending the steps up into the large gazebo, the trail of candles and flowers were difficult to tear our eyes away from, it felt really special.

We were able to choose from a large, varied menu of three courses with western and local dishes, all of which vegetarian or vegan. We started with garlic bread and bruschetta as appetizers, which were the perfect flavorful bites to wet our appetites. Our mains followed, pasta and gado-gado, before wrapping up with ice cream and banana flambe, which was delicious and perfectly sweet.

Conclusion

For couples on honeymoon in Bali, Capung Asri is a wonderful choice in Ubud. The tranquil surroundings and excellent hospitality make this resort truly something special. We felt hidden away amongst nature, the perfect recipe to fully enjoy each other’s company, with dedicated service available whenever we needed it. While this stay is a bit further away from Ubud town than some other resorts, you can still reach Ubud with a short 15-minute drive. Perfect for a honeymoon!
