From blog to Bali Honeymoon travel agency

BaliHoneymoon.com was founded by Olivia & Dirk in 2020. While it originally just started as a blog where we shared our personal tips on Bali for couples, over the years it turned into a full-service boutique travel agency with a local team in Bali, organizing unforgettable honeymoons for couples.

A quick history

2020: Blog launched 🌏 Stuck in a 5-month lockdown during Covid, Olivia & Dirk launched BaliHoneymoonGuide.com to share Bali tips for couples, something they felt was missing online. The idea originated from friends asking for honeymoon advice.
2022: Bali reopens after Covid 🌴 Although Bali was closed in 2020–2021, Olivia & Dirk kept adding content. When borders reopened in 2022, traffic grew, but many outdated recommendations had to be updated due to post-Covid closures.
2023: First honeymoon organized 💑 Readers began asking if Olivia & Dirk could plan their honeymoons. Despite initial hesitation, they agreed. The first couple visited Bali in late 2023. Early itineraries were fully custom-made for each couple.
2024: Honeymoon packages & local team 👋 With growing demand, they turned custom trips into curated packages and hired their first local planner to assist couples with on-the-ground support.
2025: Rebranding to BaliHoneymoon.com 🚀 As the business grew, the site rebranded to BaliHoneymoon.com in 2025. Now a boutique agency with a local team of 4 people, it offers personalized, well-crafted honeymoons.

Meet Olivia & Dirk

Hi Lovebirds! We are Olivia & Dirk, the couple who wrote this honeymoon guide for Bali. Dirk is from the Netherlands and Olivia is originally from Sumatra in West-Indonesia. Together, we have been living in Bali for over 6 years, and we fell in love with the island.

Olivia moved to Bali for work after finishing her study in Australia in 2017, and Dirk visited Bali in early 2018 with the plan to stay a month or two. After meeting Olivia he decided to stay in Bali for good!

We have lived in both Canggu and Ubud. Beyond that, we have explored literally every corner of the island - we know all the secret spots, especially the romantic places that are great for couples on a honeymoon!

We are both very fond of traveling. Olivia has been to over 65 countries, and she writes about her travels in Indonesian on her blog and in a book she published.

Beyond Bali Honeymoon Guide, Dirk runs a non-profit earthquake tracker website and developed a software tool to monitor Google rankings (SEO).

As a couple we have visited around 30 countries on all six continents together. Our favorites include Guatemala, Georgia and New Zealand. But we always return back to Bali! We love to arrange travel itineraries for ourselves, finding flight deals, discovering good value accommodation and fun activities.
